The Lightest Touch

You're almost there. Just reach down a bit further. I've got you.

This was the dialogue between me and my gymnastics teacher when I was 10 - every time I attempted a back walkover.

She wasn't doing anything but putting her finger in the middle of my back.

The lightest of touches.

The rest was all me.

But I didn't know it. I BELIEVED I couldn't do this maneuver without her help.

For anyone who doesn't really know what a coach is - it's the person supporting you as you try something new. Be someone new.

But unlike my gymnastics coach, I take my hand away once you are doing or being what you REALLY want all on your own.

Maybe what YOU want isn't to contort your body completely and blindly upside down - though the change you want may feel just as frightening.

Maybe, instead you want something like this:

  • Stand up for yourself more at work so you feel fully heard

  • Show up as your best self to a new manager

  • Articulate a change you need to make to your role

  • Imagine an entirely new career direction - and make it happen

What scary change do YOU want to make? I can help!
